Un defecto en las bombas causó la “gasolina sucia”
El Diario de Yucatán

The latest word from PROFECO…
“… problemas en la calidad de la gasolina Magna,,, tuvieron un inusual trabajo para remplazar bombas de gasolinas dañadas.” …  “… el vocero de Petróleros Méxicanos en Yucatán reportó que las causa de ‘gasolina sucia’ fue porque algunas bombas despachadoras de las estaciones en Mérida TINIEN FILTROS FUERA DE LA NORMA. ”

So there you have it:      It (supposedly) was not the fault of PEMEX, it’s (supposed to be) the fault of a bad batch of “outside of the norm” (non-compliant) gas filters at individual franquisas (individual independent franchised PEMEX stations).  …

Let’s all give a hearty cheer for PEMEX,  since the problem was not with their gasoline,  it was with the non-compliant independent franchises who sell high quality PEMEX gasoline.

This sure gives me lots of confidence to run out and fill our tanks with Magna.

because the stuff in this picture “clearly”  was caused by “fuera de norma” filtros   at a few franquisas:

not possible! I recently read on the internet “Your perception of it being a local-station-problem is just not supported by facts. The 8,000 recent PROFECO complaints, and the 1,000′s of fuel pumps failing recently are almost certainly due to problems at the PEMEX plant.”

    • Wilma says:

PROFECO complaints can Not be denied!

      Hi Wilma,
If you read between the lines, I had my tongue planted firmly in my cheek in praising Pemex.

Did you notice the supposedly‘ies in (parenthesis) as asides?: ” It (supposedly) was not the fault of PEMEX, it’s (supposed to be) the fault of a …” ?

Did you see the other asides? : ” ……right… …”
and “… the stuff in this picture “clearly” was caused by ” , where there is no reason to put clearly into quotes, except to point out that it really is not “clear“.

And… if you know gasoline – an in-filter at a gas station does not cause the water and sediment and brown gunk shown in the foto we included….

Good for you for seeing clearly, and for thinking for yourself !

      Happy Trails,

there was an element of sarcasm in my post also…
thanks for keeping your ear to the ground.

despite the efforts of Pemex, the stations do not always keep their tanks clean. not unlike what we experienced back in the north.

      • yucalandia says:

        LOVE IT !

I missed the sarcasm. Kaye responded with a “wink wink” answer too.

We can all have a good laugh out of it. Are you buying Magna yet?

      • Wilma says:

Steve: how can I send a private email to you?

      • yucalandia says:

        Hi Wilma,
        I just sent you one,
