It’s PREDIAL (property tax) Time !
If you pay now (this month), you get a 30% discount.
We like to pay in Merida .. Plaza Las Americas shopping mall – Av. Miguel Hildalgo .. in the east end of the Las Americas shopping mall.
or … Pay at the Yucatan State Catastro office on Calle 60 – #621 near the Merida Zocalo.
or … Pay online with a credit card**
… BUT KEEP THE RECEIPT for electronic online payments & the .pdf file from the State Catastro for at least 3 yrs, due to possible future screw-ups in the State’s Catastro computer database records – where the State sometimes LOSES the records of your last 3 yrs of payments ..
and … Then you have to re*pay a second time w/penalties … unless you keep the receipt & the .pdf file documenting your earlier years of online payments.
More official details and descriptions of physical offices-sites to go pay at, here:

Pay it online people…. there’s a pandemic in progress.

The weblink provided by Stewart takes you mid-way into the property tax payment steps.
The weblink in the article above starts at the beginning – giving you a chance to pull up your property’s information from the official records, and check that it’s correct.
Stewart’s link works, but it skips some steps that some people may need.
Steve
Thanks for updating the article with the info. It’s always the easiest way, and with the current situation, the safest. I have been paying mine online for years, it’s simple, quick, and reliable.
Can we pay online from Chelem? (Progreso)
Yes… Check for your property online at the State’s Catastro website …
Steven–a request please. For all of us expats who can’t read the local newspapers or understand the TV and radio news, could you please post an occasional update on the vaccine situation? When can we expect it here and how do we go about getting in line for it? Please monitor the situation for us. Thanks
Great suggestion.
The vaccines have only been available in Mexico for 10 days … since a week ago Thursday.
Seriously, with the slow delivery schedules & limited numbers of vaccine doses available … it looks like a more likely schedule for vaccine availability in late Spring or early summer for most ordinary people.
In addition to lots of competition for not enough doses… Yucatan has huge problems with storing & delivering the Pfizer vaccine – since we have ZERO local sources of the dry ice needed to protect the vaccine.
There are few REVCO freezers in private labs around Merida… but no capabilities to keep the vaccine cold out at the clinics – dispenseries…
???
The officialw will have adress these significant problems … before we see a lot of vaccine doses here for the public. … In other words, the Moderna vaccine’s ability to tolerate refrigerator tempertures makes it the far better candidate for coming to Yucatan.
So … We’ll be monitoring how many doses of the Moderna vaccine … & when … they get shipped to Mexico.
