Due to COVID challenges, Yucatan State has issued completely new rules on how to replace and when to replace our vehicle license plates.

We’re getting new plates in Guanajuato, as well, and they are free of charge if you go during your designated month, after which you pay a fine but I don’t know the amount. Your annual tenencia (refrendo), or road use tax, must be current before you can apply for the new plates. That can be checked and paid at: https://finanzas.guanajuato.gob.mx/#/.
